Judo Training in the Bahamas at Island Flow BJJ

At Island Flow BJJ, our foundation is built on Judo.

Our Judo program follows traditional Judo rules and structure, focusing on the core principles of balance, timing, and efficient movement. Classes are designed to develop strong fundamentals in throwing, grip fighting, and control.

This foundation carries directly into our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program. While our BJJ classes follow BJJ rules, you will notice a strong emphasis on takedowns, transitions, and positional control that comes from a Judo-based approach.

Students at Island Flow BJJ benefit from a well-rounded system that blends the precision of Judo with the effectiveness of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, creating a more complete grappling experience.

What Makes Our Approach Different

  • Strong emphasis on takedown transitions
  • Advanced grip fighting concepts
  • Ashiwaza (foot sweeps) integrated into training
  • Seamless connection between standing and ground techniques

Coaching & Leadership

Island Flow BJJ is led by Wellington Mullings, owner and head coach, a second-degree black belt in Judo.

His lineage is under Judo Olympian Dr. Rhadi Ferguson and is affiliated with the United States Judo Association. His coaching reflects a deep understanding of both traditional Judo and its application within modern Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
